GEFRA OptiSort OSTmini
Inspection and sorting system for small and tiny components
The GEFRA OptiSort OSTmini is specially designed to inspect and sort small and even the smallest screws and fasteners.
We have succeeded in further improving the image quality, e.g. the display of the shape of the internal engagement on the screw head for screws in the dimension between 1-2 mm. Nevertheless, we were able to further increase the inspection speed to 1200 parts per minute. Special lenses, sophisticated lighting and a fast-running computer system enable stable operation of the machine.
Even in these small screw dimensions, we still have such a high image quality to detect a defect in the screw attack. The OSTmini was running at 1200 parts per minute at this time. This gives our customers the advantage of inspecting tiny parts at a consistently high speed. Furthermore, we have improved the computer performance of our control AutoControl to be able to calculate all necessary data in this very short time. Also a new inspection tool, allows a faster setup of the system.
The feeding system of the OSTmini has been specially adapted to the needs of the fast speed, in order to supply the system with a correspondingly large number of parts. One type of feeder is the 2-roller feeder, in which the screws are aligned and guided by 2 counter-rotating rollers.
GEFRA is a renowned manufacturer and developer of OptiSort testing and sorting machines with a lot of mechanical engineering experience especially in the field of fastening technology.
We produce 2 basic designs:
- Machine with steel ring, OptiSort ST: for testing screws, blind rivets and long rod-shaped parts.
- System with glass ring, OptiSort W: for testing nuts, washers, rivets or other flat parts.
Our portfolio starts with screws of dimension 1.4 mm and goes up to screw sizes of 18 mm. Screw lengths up to 160 mm can be inspected and sorted. The inspection speed depends on size and inspection range and can be up to 1200 parts per minute.
Suitable for parts with an area of 90 x 90 mm and 130 mm height.
Possibilities of inspection scope starts with dimensional accuracy inspection e.g. shank diameter, head diameter, thread parameters, etc. Furthermore, surface defects, scratches, cracks, symmetry deviations, straightness, ovality and differences in material quality and hardness can be inspected. By means of color camera it is also possible to find differences in surface color and to detect coating defects. We also supply hopper and packaging systems that are integrated into the machine control system.
Our user-friendly GEFRA AutoControl software is menu-driven, image-supported and intuitively easy to use with very little training required.
Communication between your plant data acquisition program or peripheral equipment such as packaging or filling stations is quite possible.
